Solution

Development of Morula into Blastocyst:

  1. Morula is the early embryo that consists of 16 cells known as blastomeres which are contained with zona pellucida
  2. A morula is formed after 3-4 days of fertilization and is spherical in shape.
  3. The blastocyst is a hollow cellular mass of cells formed after 5-14 days of fertilization.
  4. Morula transforms into the blastocyst within a period of 1-2 days.
  5. The cells on the outer membrane of the morula bind together and develop gap junctions to form the trophoblast.
  6. The cells on the inner part of the morula give rise to the inner cell mass.
