At the same temperature and pressure, equal moles of gas have the same volume.
Volume of air = Volume of mercury
Now, Mercury vapour is 6.92 times denser than air.
Also. 1 mole of mercury vapour weights 6.92 in 1 mole of air.
1 mole of air =29 g
1 mole of mercury vapour =6.92×29=200.68 g
Now, Mass (atomic) of mercury =200 g
So, 1 atom is present in each mercury molecule.
