Oxidation of one mole of glucose in to CO2 and H2O releases 686 kcal of energy.
We know, 12 kcal of energy is present in one molecule of ATP.
So, total number of ATP which can store this energy is 686/12 = 57.1 or 57 ATP approimately.
Therefore, 57 ATP are generated from oxidation of one mole of glucose.
