Solution

The correct option is C 5
Given,
Inner curved surface area =30.8m2=30.8×104=308000 cm2

Surface area of 1 ball =61600 cm2

The number of balls that can be placed inside the cylinder can be found from the ratio between the length of the cylinder and the diameter of the balls.

To find the diameter of the balls:
It is given, surface area of a ball,
4πr2=61600 cm2
r2=616004×722
r2=15400×722
r2=700×7
r=4900
r=70 cm

So,
the diameter of a ball (2r) is 140 cm.

To find the length of the cylinder:
It is given, the inner curved surface area 2πrl=308000cm2

(Since the balls fit exactly into the tube the radius of the balls and the radius of the inner surface of the cylinder are the same.)
2π×70×l=308000 cm2
l=308000×722×12×170
l=154000×722×170
l=700 cm

The length of the cylinder is 700 cm
Number of balls that can be placed in the cylinder
=Length of the cylinderDiameter of each ball
=700140
=5

So, the number of balls that can be placed in the cylinder is 5.
