Each centriole is made up of 9 peripheral fibrils (tubules). Each fibril made of three (triplet) microtubules. Fibrils are made of tubulin. Central region is called hub. These are connected by spokes to tubules. There are no tubules present in the center. This is called 9+0 arrangement.
Hence, each centriole is made up of 27 microtubules. Since there are 97 microtubules, 97/27 will give 3.59. This implies that only 3 centrioles will be formed from the given number of microtubules.
