Question

how many cylindrical glasses of diameter 8cm and height 15cm can be filled with juice from a cylinder vessel of diameter 30cm and height 64cm.

Open in App
Solution

Radius of the Cylindrical vessel R = 30/2 =15 cm,
Height of cylindrical vessel, H = 64cm
Volume of the cylinder vessel = πR²H = π*15²×64 = 225 x 64π

Radius of the Cylindrical glass r = 8/2 = 4 cm,
Height of cylindrical glass, h = 15 cm
Volume of the cylindrical glass = πr²h = π*4²×15 = 16 x 15π

No. of glass can be filled = Vol. of vessel / vol.of one glass
= 225×64π / 16×15π
= 15×4
= 60 glasses

Ans. 60 glasses.
