We know diagonal of a polygon can be defined as the line segment joining two non-adjacent vertices of the polygon.
For Example-

In the given polygon above which is a square, we see that A and C are two non-adjacent vertices of square and when these vertices are joined to each other the line segment so formed is DIAGONAL so here AC is diagonal.

Now, similarly, in the polygon given in the question,
There are two pairs of non-adjacent vertices
  • A & C
  • B & D
So formed diagonals will be AC and BD. Hence, there are 2 diagonals in the polygon.
  • AC
  • BD
So, option (d) correct.
