Question

How many digits are required to write the numbers from 1 to 100

Open in App
Solution

  1. If we count like single digit numbers I.e from 1 to 9 they will give you 9numbers in total
  2. Now if you count the double digitnumbers they will be starting from 10 to 99 which will give you 90 numbers in total i.e (10–99)
  3. Last but not the least number which is 100 which has three digits which will give you 3 numbers in total

So the answer here is something like this :-

Following the above three steps:-

First will give you - 9 * 1(as it is single digit numbers) i.e 9

Second will give you- 90 *2 (as it is double digit numbers) i.e 180

Third will give you- 1*3(as it is a three digit number) i.e 3

Therefore the answer is 9+180+3 = 192
