Generally, the female body will have two ovaries. Each ovary releases an egg. So in total two eggs are produced.
Fertilisation is the process of fertilizing an egg, involving the fusion of male gamete (sperm) and female gamete (egg ) to form a zygote.
About 2 million sperms make it into the cervix. Some of these sperms travel to one fallopian tube, while the rest move on to the other. However, only one fallopian tube has an egg at a given time.
Out of the approximately 200 sperm that reach the egg, only 1 enters the egg to fertilize it. The rest are pushed away, which makes the fertilized egg impermeable to additional sperm.
So only one fertilisation will happen.
