Question

how many electrons pass through a conductor in 0.2 seconds if the current passing through it is 0.5 ampere

Open in App
Solution

Dear Student,

we know,

current(I)=q/t , where , q is charge and t is time

so, I = 0,.2 x 0.5

or q = 0.1 C

also, q=ne , where n is no. of electrons and e is charge on 1 electron.

n = q/e = 0.1 / 1.6 x 10-19

so number of electrons passing will be

n = 6.25x1017
