2NaHCO3HeatNa2CO3+CO2+H2O
Given mass of NaHCO3 = 42 g
Molar mass of NaHCO3 = 84 g
Number of moles of NaHCO3 = 4284
= 0.5 moles
2 moles of NaHCO3 gives 1 mole of Na2CO3 on heating.

Number of moles of Na2CO3 produced on heating 0.5 moles of NaHCO3 = 0.52=0.25 moles

Mass of Na2CO3 produced
=Number of moles of Na2CO3 produced× Molar mass of Na2CO3
