Question

What is the relationship between current and resistance

Open in App
Solution

  1. The relationship between current I, voltage V and resistance R is given by Ohm's Law.
  2. According to Ohm's law, the voltage V in a circuit is directly proportional to current I.

VI V=IR (here R is the proportionality constant known as Resistance.)

Hence, the relationship between current I and resistance R could be written as, I=VR i.e. for the constant value of voltage, the current is inversely proportional to the resistance.
