Question

How many jars each holding 1.75 kg of jams can be filled from vessal containing 100 kg of jam, and how much remain?

Open in App
Solution

Total quantity of jam in the vessel = 100 kg

Capacity of each jar = 1.75 kg

Number of jars each holding 1.75 kg of jam can be filled from the vessel = 100/1.75
= 57.1428 Jars
or 57 Jars (approximately)

Quantity of jam filled in 57 jars = 57*1.75
= 99.75 kg

Quantity of jam remained after filling 57 jars = 100 - 99.75
= 0.25 kg or 250 gram
