Question

How many lines of symmetry are possible for the given three-dimensional figure? [4 MARKS]

Open in App
Solution

Concept : 1 Mark
Diagram : 1 Mark
Result : 2 Marks

A cylinder is a 3-dimensional figure and 3-dimensional shapes do not have a line of symmetry. They have planes. Only 2-dimensional figures can have lines of symmetry. A circle has infinite lines of symmetry, surely a cylinder has infinite planes of symmetry.
