If we draw a line passing through the vertex and the midpoint of the opposite side, the regular pentagon is divided into two halves which are mirror images to each other. So this line acts as the line of symmetry.
Similarly, we can draw for each vertex to the opposite side to get 5 lines of symmetry as shown in the figure above.
