The given figure is an octagon ( polygon with 8 sides). There are two sets of points that are diametrically opposite to each other.
Points 1 and 5 & 2 and 6 & 3 and 7 & 4 and 8 are diametrically opposite points. Drawing lines through these points, we find that the two halves formed for each case completely overlap each other. Hence, the figure has four lines of symmetry.
