How many liters of milk can a hemispherical bowl of diameter 10.5cmhold? (Assume π=227)

Open in App
Solution

Step 1: Find the radius of hemispherical bowl

Given: Diameter of hemispherical bowl =10.5cm

So, Radius of hemispherical bowl is half of diameter,

r=10.52

r=5.25cm

Step 2: Find the capacity of hemispherical bowl

As, Volume of a hemisphere =23πr3

Volume of the given hemispherical bowl =232275.253 π=227

=303.1875cm3

Since, 1liter=1000cm3

1cm3=11000liter

Thus, capacity of the bowl =303.18751000

=0.303liters [ Approx.]

Hence, the hemispherical bowl can hold 0.303liters of milk.
