The water contained in the tank is equal to the volume of the tank.

Length of the tank = 50 cm

Breadth of the tank = 40 cm

Height of the tank = 20 cm

$∴$ Volume of the tank = $l \times b \times h = 50 \times 40 \times 20 = 40000 c m^{3}$

$∴$ Volume of the water in the tank = $\frac{40000}{1000}$ [ $∵ 1 L = 1000 c m^{3}$ ]
