Solution

The correct option is A 101
During sexual reproduction in Angiosperms, a prominent megaspore mother cell (MMC) is distinguished in the nucellus. The nucleus of MMC divides by meiosis to produce four haploid megaspores, three of which degenerate and remaining one becomes functional megaspore. The female gametophyte is derived from functional megaspore. Thus to produce 101 female gametophytes, 101 meiosis divisions are required that will occur in 101 megaspore mother cells.
