Balanced equation of combustion of ethanol can be written as:
C2H5OH + 3O2 --> 2CO2 + 3H2O
1 mole of C2H5OH produces 2 moles of CO2
so 0.274 mole of C2H5OH will produce 0.274 x 2 = 0.548 moles of carbon dioxide.
