Question

How Many number of oxygen present in following equation?and also balance the following equation.

C5H11NH2+O2 gives CO2+H2O+NO2

Open in App
Solution

We must balance the chemical equations so that it obeys the law of conservation of mass. The given equation can be balanced as

4(C5H11NH2)+37(O2)
--->20(CO2)+26(H2O)+4(NO2)

No of carbon atoms =20
No of hydrogen atoms=52
No of nitrogen atoms=4
No of oxygen atoms=74

Clearly the equation is balanced
