Given: Outer edge of the circular bed = Circumference = 30 cm.
Circumference = 2πr, where r is the radius of the circular bed.
2πr=30
r=302227
r=4.7cm.
Area of the circular bed = πr2
Area = 227×4.72
Area = 69.42 cm2.
Number of plants that can be planted in the circular bed = Area of the circular bedArea occupied by each plant
= 69.42 cm24 cm2
= 17.317.
Therefore, the required number of plants is 17.
