How many pn junctions does a transistor have?
2
A transistor consists of 2 pn junctions in the series of p-n-p or n-p-n. The p-type has a high hole concentration and then the n-type region has a high electron concentration. The electrons diffuse from the n-type side to the p-type side. Similarly, holes diffuse from the p-type side to the n-type side.
