Question

How many radii can a circle have?

Open in App
Solution

Radius is the line drawn from the centre of the circle to any point on the boundary of the circle.

  • We cannot count the number of points on the boundary line of the circle as there are many.
  • So there will be many line segments that connect the centre and any point on the boundary of the circle.
  • Thus, a circle has uncountable number of radii. In other words we can say there are infinite number of radii in a circle.

Infinite number of lines can pass through the centre and join the boundary.
