Question

How many small cuboids with dimensions 20 cm × 25 cm × 40 cm each can be just accommodated in a cubical box of 2 m edge?

  1. None of the above

  2. 4000

  3. 400

  4. 0.004

Solution

The correct option is C

400

Volume of one small cuboids = l×b×h
= 20cm × 25cm × 40cm

Edge length of the cubical box = 2m = 200cm----(1m = 100cm)

Now, Volume of the cubical box
= 200cm × 200cm × 200cm

So the number of cuboids that can be just accommodated in the box
= Volume of the cubical boxvolume of the cuboid.

Number of cuboids = 200×200×20020×25×40=400
