The diploid number of chromosome present in human is 2n = 46. During spermatogenesis and oogenesis meiosis occurs which reduce the chromosome number to haploid i.e n = 23. Therefore chromosome number present in sperm is n= 23 i.e haploid number of chromosome and egg n = 23 i.e haploid number of chromosome.
