There are in total 16 triangles present in the given figure, out of which eight are smaller triangles and other eight are larger triangles. All the triangles are shown below.

The smaller triangles are amrked with numbers from 1 to 8.


The combination of triangle 1 and triangle 2 forms a new larger triangle. Similary, other combinations also form new larger traingle. Therefore, there are four such triangles.
