In the given figure,
The simplest triangle are ABF, BFE, EFC, FDC, AFD. i.e 5 triangle.
The two component triangles are ABD, BFC, AFC, ABE total 4 triangle.
Three component triangles are AEC, BDC and 1 triangle containing all components.
Total no. of triangles =5+4+2+1=12.
Thus, there are 12 triangles.
Hence, option D is correct.
