How many types of muscles are there ? Which are those types ?

There are mainly 3 types of muscles in the human body.

1. Skeletal muscles- These muscles are predominantly involved in the movement. When one of these muscle contracts, it allows movement of a specific area of the body. They are voluntary muscles. That means that you can control their movement.
2. Smooth muscles- The term smooth muscle comes from the more uniform appearance of this type of muscle tissue. Smooth muscle is involuntary, meaning that you can’t control its movement.
3. Cardiac muscles- Individual cardiac muscle cells are closely connected, which helps enable your heart to beat in a coordinated fashion. Similar to smooth muscle, cardiac muscle is involuntary.
