Question

How many zeroes does a quadratic polynomial have?

Open in App
Solution

Zeroes of a Quadratic polynomial.

The value of x for which value of polynomial becomes zero is known as zeroes of polynomial.

And the degree in a polynomial is equal to number of zeroes.

For example, Let a quadratic polynomial

x2+5x+6=0x2+3x+2x+6=0x(x+3)+2(x+3)=0(x+2)(x+3)=0x=-2or-3

Here, we can see that only two value of x at which polynomial becomes zero.

Hence, the quadratic polynomial has only two zeroes
