The disease transmitted by the mosquito biting and sucking blood from infected person (carrying blood with germs) and giving the germs later to the another (healthy) person through another bite.
It is only the female mosquitoes suck the human blood (other vertebrates also mainly warm blooded animals) but males are harmless, they do not bite, they only suck plant juice.
