Solution
Transpiration:
Loss of water in the form of vapours from the aerial parts of the plants including stems, and leaves, especially through the stomata is termed transpiration.
Transpiration is a useful process as it helps to cool down the surface of the plant in an extremely hot climate.
A force of pull acts in the xylem tissues which helps in the movement of water in the upward direction.
This force of pull is referred to as transpirational pull.
It is estimated that approximately 99% of the water is lost during transpiration by the plants.
