Question

How much g of H2O is formed?

Open in App
Solution

Given a balanced equation: 2H2+O22H2O.
It is clear that 1 mole of oxygen requires 2 moles of hydrogen i.e. 4 g of hydrogen.
Here, we have one mole of oxygen and only 1 gram of hydrogen, hence hydrogen is limiting reagent.
4 grams of hydrogen gives 36 grams of water.
Hence, 1 gram of hydrogen gives 9 grams of water.
