From the figure, it can be noticed that the water is filled between 40 ml and 60 ml. Counting each sub division on scale, there are 4 sub divisions between every marked value in the problem figure.
This means value of each subdivision is
60404=5 ml.
Water is filled 2 subdivisions above 40 ml.
Which means the water level is 40+(2×5)=50 ml.
