How plants are classified on the basis of vascular tissues?

Open in App
Solution

Vascular tissues such as xylem and phloem help in the conduction of water, minerals and food.

On the basis of presence or absence of specialized vascular tissues, plants are classified into two groups. They are,

  1. Non-vascular plants – Thallophyta and Bryophyta

  2. Vascular plants – Pteridophyta, Gymnosperms and Angiosperms.
