Dear student,

Due to the two gases Sulphur di oxide and nitrogen di oxide, released by the chimney of the the industries , these gases combine with the water available in the upper atmosphere causes acid rain which destroy the monument as it is made by Marble or lime stone because marble react with acid present in acid rain .
