Work done IS the energy transferred when a force moves a load Work done = force distance moved in direction of force. Work has units of Joules
Power is the rate of energy transfer Power = energy /time
Where they might both be used is when calculating the power of a machine,
Power of machine = work done / time taken
Remember, work done is the energy transferred, so these terms are interchangeable in the power equation.
Example - a person lifts a 10 kg mass, moving it a distance of 1.5m, in 2 seconds. Calculate the persons power output:

Work =100N⋅1.5m=150J
