Solution
RNA:
Ribonucleic acid (RNA) is vital for protein synthesis in cells and carries genetic information in some organisms.
It is made up of ribose sugars linked together by phosphodiester bonds.
DNA viruses are rare and single-stranded RNA serves as the genetic material in several plant viruses.
Examples of such plant RNA viruses are tobacco mosaic virus, cucumber mosaic virus, and tomato spotted wilt virus.
The majority of plant viruses contain RNA that carries the genetic content and 75% of these viruses have single-stranded RNA genomes.
