Solution

(a) If the party president holds that credibility and popularity, other party members must listen to him. This will rather prevent chaos within the party. However such a method cannot be regarded as democratic as the party president is likely to dictate terms so as to resolve differences without accommodating warring factions.

(b) This would be the most democratic and pragmatic approach to resolve internal differences. However, in such a situation, interests of the minority can be overlooked.

(c) Secret ballot is a democratic method that allows people to seek out their preferences and choices and not easily get arm twisted by others However, the secret ballot may later result in a split.

(d) Consulting senior leaders would help in resolving challenges as their experiences and wisdom would help in identifying a middle path. However, the younger lot may have different set of ideologies that may not necessarily be in sync with the old school of thought.
