The least count of a screw is defined as the distance moved by the screw on the main scale when the screw is given is one complete revolution.
mathematically, we have
$L e a s t c o u n t = \frac{p i t c h}{N u m b e r o f d i v i s i o n s o n t h e c i r c u l a r s c a l e}$
If the pitch is 1 mm and there are 100 divisions on the circular scale, then,
$L e a s t c o u n t = \frac{1 m m}{100} = 0.01 m m = 0.001 c m$
