Question

How the vacancy holes help in conductivity in p-type of semiconductor .Describe it.

Solution

In a p type Semiconductor there are more number of holes than electrons. Holes are nothing but absence of electrons. Hence it is possible for other electrons to occupy this vacant space and move about the Crystal.this motion of free electrons in other sense can be referred to the motion of holes.hence in a way we say that holes help in condition of current in p type Semiconductor
