Question

How to calculate the resultant force if one force is applied from left and another is applied from bottom of an object ? Please explain with example.

Solution

Extend the force line from the left to the right, that is through x axis
and also extend the force line from the bottom towards up,that is through y axis
now we will get two lines perpendicular to eachother in positive x and y axis

T h e space r e s u l tan t space c a n space b e space c a l c u l a t e d space b y space p a r a l l e log r a m space l a w space o f space v e c t o r space a d d i t i o n. space space space space p a r a l l e log r a m space l a w space o f space v e c t o r space a d d i t i o n space i s space s t a t e s space t h a t space space space
If two vectors acting simultaneously at a point can be represented both in magnitude and direction by the adjacent sides of a parallelogram drawn from a point, then the resultant vector is represented both in magnitude and direction by the diagonal of the parallelogram passing through that point.

Let the force applied from left to right is P and from bottom is Q.
