Question

How to divide 75 dhs in the ratio 2:3 between A and B? ( step by step )

Open in App
Solution

here we have ratio 2:3.
that means , when A gets 2, B gets 3. So imagin, if we have 5, we give 2 to A while 3 to B.
So what we do to decide 75 is,
  • Find the basic unit number or add all the numbers in the ratio to get a final number which we will term a 'unit'. Here, the number is 2+3=5.
  • The next step is to find the number of units in the given number. Here given number is 75 . So to find number of units, we do 75÷5=15.
  • Then we multiply the number in ratio by number of units. Here 2×15=30 and 3×15=45. So A gets 30 while B gets 45.
  • To verify the numbers,we can check by adding them together and see if we get given value.here, 30+45=75. So it is fine.
