How to find Squares and Square Roots ?

Finding squares is multiplying the given number two times.

Example : $(25{)}^2=25\times 25=625$

$(15{)}^2=(15\times 15)=225$

For finding square roots, the most common method is Prime factorization.

Example : $\sqrt{196}=?$

$\begin{array}{cc}2& 196\\ 2& 8\\ 7& 49\\ 7& 7\\ & 1\end{array}$

$196=2^2\times 7^2$

$\therefore \sqrt{196}=\sqrt{2^2\times 7^2}$
$=2\times 7=14$.
