Arrange the numbers in ascending order:
2, 2, 4, 4, 5 and 6.
Median is (n+1)2 nd reading. Here n = 6, therefore n + 12 = 3.5
So median lies between 3rd and 4th observation.
Since, 3rd and 4th reading = 4, the Median is 4 itself.
Mode is the number which has largest frequency.
Here 2 occurs twice and 4 occurs twice. Hence, this set of observations have to Modes which are 2 and 4. Such set is called Multi-modal set.
