Question

How to guess whether a circuit is in series combination or parallel combination?

Open in App
Solution

There's no shortcut, really.

It comes with practice.
Do a lot of questions(Try!).

I'll add some tips.

Check the connectivity of the resistors from one end of the resistor with other end of another resistor.

If all the starting ends of all resistors are same then it's in parallel.

If they are continuesly connecting from head to tail pattern, then it's in series.

That is ,

If your resistors are connected end to end then they are in series i.e. if one end of the resistor is connected to another resistor or resistive component then they are in series

If your resistors’ both ends are common to another resistor then, You have a parallel combination!
