how to name cyclic compounds with substituents like ester,amide,amine?

Dear Student,

The naming of cyclic compounds are done in a similar way as of straight chain compounds. The functional groups such as -COOR, -CONH₂, -NH₂ is used as a suffix while the name of the ring is used as a prefix. The priority must be assigned according to the priority table.
For eg. C₆H₅CONH₂ is called benzamide where benzene is the ring and amide is the functional group attached.
