Question

How to write linear equation when two points are given ..let's say (1,0) and (1,4)

Open in App
Solution

We can apply two-point formula;
(yy1)=(y2y1x2x1)(xx1)
Here, x1 = 1 , y1 = 0 , x2 = 1 , y2 = 4;
(y0)=(4011)(x1)
Since, x2x1=0. It means its slope is infinity.
So, the equation of the line is y = 0 or simply y-axis.
