How to write linear equation when two points are given ..let's say (1,0) and (1,4)

Solution

We can apply two-point formula;
$(y - y_{1}) = (\frac{y_{2} - y_{1}}{x_{2} - x_{1}}) (x - x_{1})$
Here, $x_{1}$ = 1 , $y_{1}$ = 0 , $x_{2}$ = 1 , $y_{2}$ = 4;
$(y - 0) = (\frac{4 - 0}{1 - 1}) (x - 1)$
Since, $x_{2} - x_{1} = 0$ . It means its slope is infinity.
So, the equation of the line is y = 0 or simply y-axis.
