  2. Vulnerable: Species that are likely to move into the category of endangered species.
  3. Endangered: Species with low population numbers and which are on the verge of extinction. For example, Indian tigers.
  4. Extinct: Species that have disappeared from the entire Earth’s surface. For example, the passenger pigeon.
