The Indian Iron and Steel Company (IISCO) was established in the year 1870 with installed capacity of 2.5 million tonnes of steel. It is the second integrated steel plant. It is located at Burnpur in Asansol. Iron produced here is of finest quality. Best management was the main asset which took this industry to the greatest heights. It is well connected to both South-Eastern and Eastern Railways and National Highway. Proximity to Kolkata and Haldia ports is an added asset.
